Multi-disciplinary Performance
My aim is to work on collaborative multi-diciplinary projects. Currently I am working on some film projects, collaborating with other artists and film makers. I enjoy working in a cross-disciplinary medium, injecting theatrical costumes into film. I want to be able to fuse different creative elements into a cohesive immersive experience. In this portfolio are my recent film work and costumes form performances.
At the moment I am working on a music video for the band Thidius https://soundcloud.com/thidius and will be updating my portfolio with designs soon. My filmmaking collective has recently won funding from Ideas Tap Fund to make a animation on the housing crisis. I want to develop my script writing skills to be able to create the many short film ideas that we have.
Day-Glo YoUtopia is a short film that I Creatively Produced with a few other filmakers in summer 2013 in the middle of my undergraduate degree. It was initially shot for a competition for a David Guetta music video. Unfortunately the competition was cancelled.
The other images are of costumes and make-up that I have designed and created for performances and events over the last few years. My performances have ranged from street performances that interact with observers and street furniture to cabaret acts and I have some new puppets in the pipeline. I am interested in contemporary movement and am currently taking a class at Siobhan Davis to further explore the versitility of the human body on stage.
I have attached a brief report from my research trip to Beirut, Lebanon. I took a trip to Beirut after winning the John Hayes Travel Grant. I spent most of my time walking through the city, surveying the spaces of the city and observing other people's and my own interactions with the environment. I am interested in exploring architecture and space further particularly through physical movement and film. (Photographic survey can be seen in separate folder in portfolio called 'Beirut')
Report written for the John Hayes Travel Grant after a research trip to Beirut. Funded by John Hayes Travel Grant Fund, The Courtauld Institute of Art.
